What are the signs and symptoms of Kali Yuga?

Kali Yuga means the age of darkness. There are two words: Kali and Yuga. Kali means darkness and Yuga means an age.

We can divide the history of the human civilization depending on the behaviour of people towards other people and the ecosystem in which they are living. The whole existence means God and there is no separate God. And in every thing in the universe there lies God’s presence at the center of the thing. At the center of our being lies the God’s presence called the Atma.

The above age is reckoned on the basis of how much the humanity is closer to the center of their own being. When a larger humanity is closer to the center of their own being, it is called Satya Yuga, the age of truth. The Hindus compare this division of age or Yuga with an example of a chair of four legs. These four legs are nothing but the four major components of our own being – body, mind, heart, and soul. In Satya Yuga or the age of truth the larger humanity was closer to their soul. And hence there was more purity and transparency in their actions. Ethics and morality prevailed at its optimum in all their actions. Then slowly, by and by, this chair of values started falling apart. The first leg fell. And the ethical and moral principles started falling apart. The humanity went away from their own center or the soul. The chair is standing on three legs. The human being is standing on three components, that is, the body, mind and heart but without a soul. This age is called Treta Yuga. That is, an age where the morality and ethics has been reduced to 3/4th of the total value. The individual has started moving away from his own center called the soul.

Then the second leg fell. The chair is now standing on two legs. The soul has fallen and the heart has also fallen. Now there is no emotion and no empathy towards other people and the whole ecosystem. The moral and ethical principles have fallen to 2/4th of the total value. This age is called Dvapar Yuga. Dvapar literally means two legs. The chair is totally imbalanced. The chair is standing only on two legs. We can not sit on this chair. It is totally imbalanced. The human being has further gone away from his center. His being is now standing only on two components, that is, the body and the mind.

Then the third leg also has fallen. The chair is now standing only on one leg. The ethical and moral principles have further fallen. The humanity has gone far away from their own center. It is now living only with the body and without any mind, heart, and soul. This is the darkest age of our times. And this age is called the Kali Yuga. As we further move into time, this darkness will become thicker and thicker. There will be a point of total darkness. And this can be a point of no return. The whole humanity may perish forever. And this is the greatest danger.

Just look at the humanity !! There is every sign that the fourth leg may also be fallen. And this age will be an age of machines – robots and cyborgs. The humanity will reach to a stage where it will start functioning with only an artificial intelligence. The scientists are also talking about creating an artificial consciousness. It will also be very difficult to distinguish between artificial consciousness and real consciousness. And this human being will be without a body, mind, heart, and the soul. This will be an age of total darkness. The only question that will arise: Is there a light at the end of the tunnel? The chances are almost not there. There does not appear to be any possibility of revival. Albert Einstein was one of the greatest scientists. He was once asked this question: What weapons will be used in the Third World War? He said, “I do not know what weapons will be used in the Third World War but I can definitely tell you what weapons will be used in the Fourth World War”. And he said, “Stones and spears”. And I think everything is perfectly moving towards how he has seen the future. The signs and symptoms of Kali Yuga are very simple. Every individual has to ask this basic question. Is he moving closer to his own center or is he moving away from his own center? This a simple test to know in which Yuga or age we all are living.

The above chair of four legs is just a symbol of Principle Centered Leadership. And as the legs fall, the Principle Centered Leadership deteriorates. And the revival becomes a greatest leadership challenge.

What is God? Is God a Concept?

Please don’t contaminate their innocent minds. If that one energy is God then why the word God? Why not only energy? And then what about matter? Is matter not an energy? Then is matter the God? And what about dark matter and dark energy?

You are telling them that everything has come from space. Please also tell from where the space has come? You are telling them all coloured lights have come from the white light. And from where the white light has come? What is the meaning of a white light without a black background? Please also note that that there are some light frequencies which are not visible to the human eye. Is this the reason that you are wearing white clothes? You must be thinking that white means sacred and black means non-sacred. You must be thinking that white colour means purity and black colour means impurity. Please don’t discriminate like this otherwise the people who are following the Ayyappa Swamy may get hurt because most of the time they are wearing black clothes.

On the path of Ayyappa Swamy the people are using black clothes for a particular period. And in this period they are going through some austerities and hardships in life. The black clothes are only a metaphor for hardships and austerities. Just like on the path of Sannyas or renunciation the saffron clothes are a metaphor for the sacrifice.

The colours are just metaphors for various emotions of life. And one has to pass through all these emotions to arrive at the truth or reality. And every master uses a different colour. The colour is just a metaphor for the flowering consciousness. In the beginning of spirituality we are like a seed. And in the end of spirituality we have to be like the flowers. The colour is nothing but a metaphor for the flowering state. The seed state is a state of potentiality. And the state of flowering is a state of self-actualization. This is the journey.

Just see, you have killed their innocence and curiosity. This is the problem with the elders. The moment they learn something, they want to impart that learning vehemently on others. This is a trespass. This is a crime on the innocent minds.

Once Newton thought that the space is like an absolute thing. And this idea stayed there for more than 150 years until Albert Einstein came and destroyed that idea. And Newton died with this wrong notion that the space is an absolute thing.

I think you have no idea about the space. The space is not possible without an object. If there is no object there is no space. If the object is not moving in the space then there is no time too. Albert Einstein has proved to the world that space and time are relative. They are not two different things.

On a very higher plane the thoughts are also objects. When they are moving in the sapce of the mind they create an illusion of time. When thoughts arise in the mind they create their own mind space. The human being becomes a space-time object. There is no God as a person. When you transcend this space-time object you experience the divinity. The divinity is beyond space and time.

Apart from the white light and other coloured lights, there are some lights which are not visible to our outer eyes. And what about the inner light the mystics are talking about? Do you think it has a colour? Do you think it has a flavour? The inner light is visible only to an inner eye.

What is the colour of water? What is the flavour of water? What is the taste of water? It is colourless, flavourless, and tasteless. And yet we can’t live without water.

Please don’t stop their inquiry by giving them your own dogmas and concepts. Please don’t stop their curiosity. Please don’t stop their exploration. Please tell them how to look and where to look. But please don’t tell them what to look. You are telling them in advance that the God is a concept. You are defining them the God. Now they will live according to your definition of God. They may not try to know on their own.

Let them explore. Let them adventure. Let them know on their own. Let them think and ponder. Please don’t give them your ready-made answers. You have killed their curiousity and innocence. You have programmed and corrupted their innocent minds. Please don’t do that.

Let the God remain undefined. Let the God remain unknown. The moment you define, God loses its meaning. God can be experienced but God can not be expressed. Every expression only becomes a part of God. Every expression only becomes a sub-set of God. God is in everything and everyone. God means everything and God means nothing too. God is in everybody and nobody. Can you please tell me from where God starts and where it ends? The territory of God is beginningless and endless. It is Anadi and Ananta.

 

Can Consciousness be Quantified?

Can consciousness be quantified? Well, it all depends on what do we actually mean by consciousness. Our basic understanding of consciousness is that which makes us aware of something. It is the consciousness that makes us aware of a thing. We think that the consciousness is the by-product of our existence. This is how the scientists think of the consciousness. They think that the consciousness is like an object or a thing. And they also think that one day it can be quantified. They also think that one day they will be able to create an articial consciousness. And they are in fact trying to do this in the context of artificial intelligence.

I love Michio Kaku. He is a great theoretical physicist. I have a great respect for his contribution to science. He is one of the string theorists and he has his own equation of the string theory. In the embedded video he says that till now some 25, 000 papers have been written on consciousness and without any conclusion. Even he is also talking about his own theory of the consciousness. I am very sorry that I do not agree to his idea and notion of consciousness. To me, consciousness is that which can not be created. All matter has come from the consciousness. Everything has emerged out of the consciousness. And all that has come from the consciousness can be quantified to some extent. But the consciousness itself can not be quantified. Consciousness is that from which the energy is released and into which the energy is dissolved. Consciousness is that in whose presence one form of energy is transformed into another form of energy.

The consciousness is not the by-product of our existence. No, it is the other way round. Our existence is the by-product of the consciousness. We always speak from the side of the effect and never be able to visualize the side of the source. The consciousness can be experienced but it can never be expressed. The consciousness is not an object. The consciousness is the subject. And Enlightenment is nothing but the existential experience of the dissolution an ego-center and the rising-up of a conscious-center.

When it comes to mathematics and mathematical equations I madly get inspired by these scientific minds. Albert Einstein was once asked about his interest in politics. He said that the politics is for the present and the equations are for the future. He said that the equations serve the humanity for eternity. He said that his heart beats only for creating equations. And just see how his equation of the theory of relativity is serving the humanity till date.

I also thought of coming out with my own equation of consciousness. And I know for sure that the equation will only serve half the purpose. One has to experience the result of the equation. And till that time the equation remains just an equation. My equation of consciousness is as under:

C = EM² (This should be read as C equals EM square).

In the above equation C represents consciousness. E represents energy in all forms. And M represents the intensity of meditation. It is a constant of meditation.

The above equation helps the human energy to transform into consciousness through meditation.

In ancient India the mystics have called the consciousness as Chetana or Chaitanya. It is a Sanskrit word for consciousness. The sages of the Upanishads have witnessed Shuddha Chetana or Shuddha Chaitanya or pure consciousness through the process of Dhyana or meditation.

The energy in all forms can be quantified in some way. There is no difficulty in quantifying the energy. The scientists have various ways and means to quantify the energy. This is their domain. They can do that and they are in fact doing this. But I am very sorry to say that the consciousness can not be quantified. It is not an energy. It is not a matter. It is not an object. It is a subject. Let us try to experience the consciousness. And to have this experience we have to move from “where am I” to “who am I”, and I call this turning point a “quantum evolution”.

Are we a consequence of an Accident?

Are we a consequence of an accident? Is it really a big think or a big flaw? If the whole universe has emerged just as an accident out of the universal laws of the existence then the universal laws are meaningless. What is the meaning of an universal law which only creates an accident?

What is the use of riding a horse if it is certainly going to meet with an accident? What is the use of driving a car if you certainly end up with an accident? What is the use of a driving school and a driving license? What is the use of distinguishing between a good driver and a bad driver?

Just look at the whole cosmos? Just see how systematically it is arranged and organized? It is a cosmos and not a chaos. There is an order. There is a system. There is a symphony.

Just think for a while that the whole universe is like a mirror. And we all are just reflections. Now just stand before the mirror and look at yourself. If you are healthy the mirror will reflect the health. If you are sick the mirror will reflect the sickness. If you are sad the mirror will reflect sadness. And if you are happy the mirror will reflect happiness. This is why Werner Heisenberg has said that our universe is a participating universe. It all depends on us and not on the universe. This is the reason why Krishna has said in the Bhagawat Geeta that the universe has demonic and divine qualities. It is a mystery of the universe that it reflects you as you are just like a mirror.

The western scientists have always been speaking on variouse dimensions of the universe but they are missing on this subjective dimension of the universe. The eastern scientists have always been speaking on this subjective dimension of the universe. Buddha has even gone to the extent of saying that your world is your own world. The world exists only because of you. The world has no meaning without you. Only you can give a meaning to your own world. And when you don’t exist what really exists is pure Nirvana.
